Cherbourg Junior Police Rangers has been selected as one of four outstanding NRMA Insurance Community Grant recipients in the running to win the NRMA Insurance People’s Choice Award. Overall 156 projects around Australia received a 2014 Community Grant.
If the project receives the most votes at www.communitygrantsprogram.com.au/rangers its funding could triple.
Project Manager Louise Thompson said they are excited the Cherbourg Junior Police Rangers has been nominated.
“The most exciting thing about the project is seeing the changes in the children who participate. Their self esteem improves, they are more respectful towards elders, teachers, Police and the community. There have also been positive relationships that have been formed between the participants, the Police and wider community as part of this program.
“Winning the NRMA Insurance People’s Choice Award, and potentially tripling our funds, would give us help to ensure we can continue this successful program in the community,” said Louise.
