Incredibly inspiring! Aria's story brought tears to my eyes and I can't wait to read Aria's Dream!

Aria's Journey raconte l'histoire d'une jeune Américaine qui débarque en pays inconnu mais pas méconnu, à Paris, pour ses études. Elle a été acceptée à l'Académie des Arts de Versailles pour pouvoir se consacrer à sa passion : la musique classique, et en particulier l'opéra. Dotée d'une voix très rare de contralto qui fait sa fierté, elle s'oppose pourtant à la résitance de certains professeurs qui veulent qu'elle devienne mezzo-soprano. Aussi, elle devient la grande rivale de Maxime, le premier de classe, mais c'est sans compter l'aide de ses nouvelles amies qui sont toujours là pour la supporter.
J'ai plutôt aimé Aria, même si je ne me suis pas du tout identifiée à elle. Elle est une battante, elle a du cran et de la détermination à revendre, elle est prête à enfreindre des règles, elle refuse les défaites (c-à-d les seconds rôles à l'opéra, entre autres…). Si parfois son comportement m'a un peu agacée, en particulier vis-à-vis de sa famille, Maxime et Lucas (attention, triangle amoureux - quoi qu'en second plan), elle m'a quand même régulièrement fait sourire, en particulier lorqu'elle se dispute. Je trouve qu'Anna Adams a mieux réussi "Aria's Journey" que "A French Girl in New York", c'est plus "fast-paced", agréable, amusant. Comme point négatif, je trouve encore une fois que les stéréotypes français sont un peu poussés, même s'ils sont plus subtils que dans la série précédente. Je ne sais pas si c'est que je n'ai pas assez côtoyé de snobisme à la française, mais ça m'étonnerait que tant de gens aggissent de manière si chauvine à Paris et Versailles (en tout cas, je n'espère pas, mais je suis peut-être un peu trop partiale et n'apprécie pas la critique des Français ? Je suis pourtant la première à les critiquer à l'étranger !).

Anna Adams has done it again! I just love her style of writing. Usually I know where things are going mostly because that's where I'm wanting them to head....she knows what a reader wants in a book: some drama, intrigue, a little romance, and lovable characters.
Aria's story is fun though heart wrenching at times. I'm looking forward to learning more about her past and future in the books to come.....hoping to learn how she got the name Aria because it was fitting despite being a little ironic because of her dad's distaste of the classical world....
Got to say with the love interest I expected it to go a little different but we'll see how the story further develops.....
