Attempted armed robbery, Whiterock

Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a grocery store in Whiterock last night.

Around 8.10pm a male teenager approached the Progress Road business armed with a knife and demanded money from a male attendant who was outside the store.

The employee managed to return to the store and shut and lock the doors behind him.

A short time later officers attended and located the youth nearby.

The boy will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
