Caldwell, N.J.- Georgian Court University's
Dara Schroeder added another legendary milestone to her outstanding softball resume as the senior eclipsed the 300-hit mark for her career, Sunday afternoon at Caldwell University in the regular-season finale for the Lions.
Schroeder laced the very first pitch of game one through the middle for the historic knock, while adding a second base hit in the nightcap. With her total of 301, the Bordentown, N.J. native is the all-time leader for hits and stolen bases (138) in the history of GCU and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Division II softball.
The Lions dropped both contests to the 18th-ranked Cougars (29-11-1, 22-2 CACC) in two five-inning affairs, 11-0 and 9-1.
This is not the last time GCU (14-30, 13-13 CACC) will see Caldwell in 2015 as the two squads will face each other in the first round of the upcoming CACC Softball Championship Tournament, hosted by Georgian Court. The top-seeded Cougars will take on the #8 Lions Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. on Field #1 of the GCU softball complex.
