Curator Eric Brooks gave a tour of Ashland, Henry Clay’s estate in Lexington, Kentucky. The house contains many objects that once belonged to Henry Clay. Henry Clay represented Kentucky as a U.S. Representative and Senator. He also served three times as Speaker of the House and was Secretary of State from 1825-1829.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2015 LCV Cities Tour” in Lexington, Kentucky, from June 20-25 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Time Warner Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on BookTV on C-SPAN2. close
