WhitehallWhitehall is a suburban community located about 7 miles east of downtown Columbus. It is home to about 19,000 residents. The City of Whitehall evolved from a rural farming community to a post-war boomtown during the late 1940’s through the 1960’s. The nation’s first regional shopping center, Town & Country, opened in Whitehall in 1947.

Whitehall provides plenty of opportunity for first-time homebuyers seeking convenience and affordability. The established neighborhoods of English Village, Parklawn Manor and Norton Field contain vintage, well-maintained homes. A variety of price points and home styles can be found along Fairway Boulevard, with homes ranging from around $100,000 to $700,000 and up.

A portion of Fairway Boulevard overlooks the Columbus Country Club, a private golf and athletic club that is famous for its Donald Ross-designed championship course. The club offers memberships to the public – with a 100-day “preview” membership starting at $1,000.

If you’re looking for less expensive recreation, the Whitehall Parks & Recreation Department maintains 5 well-appointed parks with a variety of sports fields, playgrounds and league opportunities. If you’re not the athletic type, you can kick back and relax with the “Music in the Park” series, with free summer performances at John Bishop Park.

The Whitehall Community Park Activity Center features an exercise facility and year-around wellness programs. For citizens aged 55 years and better, the Whitehall Senior Center offers activities, classes and travel opportunities.

Whitehall’s proximity to Columbus and to Port Columbus International Airport continues to attract new business to the area. Whitehall is home to 5 of the top 25 largest employers in the Central Ohio region. Top employers include FedEx, OhioHealth, Alliance Data, and PNC Bank. The Department of Defense is another significant employer, with a campus called DSCC – the Defense Supply Center Columbus – located just south of the airport. The DSCC is home to the Defense Logistics Agency and the Defense Financing Accounting Service.

The Whitehall City School District serves approximately 2,900 students. Whitehall-Yearling High School is the only high school in the district. It has a student-teacher ratio of 14:1, and offers Advanced Placement courses and exams.
