The Sock Hops

If tight, tempting harmonies from the days when men in suits could sing and sway make your heart beat, then the Hops are for you!
From The Four Seasons to The Four Tops, from The Temptations to The Tokens, The Sock Hops specialize in four-part harmony favorites from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s. Come join the party as we sway, jive, and boogie to hits such as The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Blue Moon, Runaround Sue, Little Darlin’, and How Deep is Your Love? All ages. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 the day of the show.

The Strand will celebrate its fifth annual Motown musical revue with fan favorite The Motown Sound in July 2015! With each passing year,t he praise for the Motown revue grows, making each year a bigger smash hit that the last. With an extensive catalog of Motown hits to choose from, The Motown Sound whisks audiences back to the 1960s and 70s with the feel-good hits of the much celebrated Motown era.
Audiences are sure to enjoy the big hair, colorful fashions, and soulful sounds of Stevie Wonder, Martha & the Vandellas, Marvin Gaye, the Temptations, and Gladys Knight & The Pips in this high-energy, high-excitement musical revue that is unlike any other experience in the area. Open Mic at The Strand

Whether you like to sing, play music, or just prefer to drink delicious cocktails while listening to great local acts, come by on Thursday nights to enjoy The Strand's new Open Mic Night!
Hosts Chad Yochum and Travis Cottle are regulars in the Marietta music scene and are excited to open up a new avenue for local musicians to play and connect. This is the only open mic night around that is set up with a warm studio sound. No plugging in. No sound-checking. Just play.
Live at Lumiere: Open Mic Night is always free entry and free to play. All artists will also have the opportunity to buy a CD of their recorded sets at $5 per song (original material only). The signature Lumiere beverage menu -- including our homemade Cola, Dr. Fizzywater's Honey Tonic, and famous hot toddies -- is available at the bar.

With the show-stopping dance numbers the Strand is known for and the catchy songs from the hit Broadway musical, The Earl Smith Strand Theatre will welcome young performers grades 9-12 back to its stage for Legally Blonde The Musical, Jr. in summer 2015! A fabulously fun international award-winning musical based on the adored movie, Legally Blonde JR., follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery, and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. Come enjoy the immense local talent and you might just see tomorrow's next Broadway star!

The sun shines longer nowadays, so all the more reason to sit up on The Strand's 4th floor terrace and enjoy a 'Brew with a View'! The Strand's popular spring and summer feature is back, with cold drinks and stunning views of the square and Kennesaw Mountain. Live music featured on select weekends sponsored by Red Hare Brewery. Friday and Saturday nights from 7pm-11pm.
Liquid Brunch
Grab a bottomless mimosa or Bloody Mary, a few friends, and sit back and enjoy the sunshine on the terrace or the shade underneath an umbrella and relax! Liquid Brunch runs every Sunday from 12:30pm-4pm and features live music.
Full bar - no entry fee. 21+.

Performula Summer Camp

Rising 4th - 9th graders
Strand Camp with tested formulas designed to enhance musical theatre skills!This summer, students from Cobb County and surrounding areas will once again enjoy a unique “strand†of summer camp called PERFORMULA. In the Earl Smith Strand Theatre’s musical theatre laboratory, young performers will focus entirely on music, dance, and drama, discovering the formulas for performing success! The week-long camp will yield a Saturday performance on The Strand’s Stephen W. Imler Stage.
Morning session: 9AM-12PM
Afternoon session: 1PM-4PM
Performance on Saturday the 27th at 3pm for the morning session and 5pm for the afternoon session. . Price is set at $175 per session. Saturday performance: FREE admission.

New Drink Menu!
The Strand has been proud to introduce the popular silent film inspired cocktail bar this fall and winter season. As you sink into a plush couch or join a friend at a café table, the modern world seems to drift away as classic silent films quietly flicker in the background while a live pianist plays. The Lumière Lounge features specialty cocktails made with local 'Hometown Honey' in addition to a full bar.
The Lumière Lounge wis open Friday and Saturday nights from 7pm-1pm with its much-lauded specialty cocktail menu and live pianist, creating a perfectly intimate setting for a date night cocktail. 21+.
Opens at 5pm the first Friday of every month for Art Walk.
