The Writers' Conference #wemconf2015

Tickets to The Writers' Conference are selling fast and the applications to our Agent & Writer One-to-Ones have now opened.

For a wonderful opportunity to spend a day with writers like yourself, chat to leading professionals from the industry and learn about publishing and writing through our panel events, debates and activities, please visit our website and book your ticket. Whether you’re an established or emerging writer, The Writers’ Conference is an invaluable opportunity for you to make new contacts, learn more about getting published, take part in workshops, be guided through the murky waters of funding, and apply to have your work read by a nationally-acclaimed literary agent or critiqued by a professional writer.

Our programme will include events on fiction, poetry, scriptwriting for screen & theatre, and explore topics and trends on all aspects of writing and publishing, from writing in the digital age to reaching audiences.

If you're an East Midlands writer, this is your must-go-to event for 2015!

The perfect Christmas present for all your writer friends!

Agent & Writer One-to-Ones

Applications for agent and writer one-to-ones now open.

As part of #wemconf2015, we're delighted to offer you the chance to have your work read by and pitched to a literary agent at one of our Agent One-to-Ones, or critiqued by a published writer at one of our Writer One-to-Ones.

These sessions take place throughout the day with a limited number of places available.

Apply for an Agent One-to-One, where you'll be able to discuss your work, address any issues you may be having and assess where your work is placed in the current literature and genre market. This is a very rare opportunity to have your work assessed first hand by a leading agent in their field.

In a Writer One-to-One, you'll be given feedback on your work by a professional writer and get their advice on how to develop it; this might include building characters, strengthening plots in your fiction, or finding the right form and shape for your poetry.

If you've already booked your ticket you can also apply for an Agent or Writer One-to-One.  You must book and apply for the One-to-Ones by 26 February 2015, as we need to make a selection shortlist.  You will be notified on Monday 16 March 2015 of our decision.

For more information, visit our website at www.writingeastmidlands.co.uk or apply now!

Please note that simply booking for the Conference does not guarantee you an Agent or Writer One-to-One, as places are very limited. All applications will be read by the Writing East Midlands team and will go through a selection process. Unfortunately we don’t have the resources to offer feedback on submissions. You will need to book a place on the conference in order to apply for a One-to-One.
