MEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO NJAC RIVAL WILLIAM PATERSON

Wayne, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's soccer team dropped a tough New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up today, 2-3, to the Pioneers of William Paterson, to fall to 6-3-2 overall on the year, 0-1-1 in the conference.  The Pioneers improve to 5-4-1 overall and get their first win in the conference at 1-1.

The Pioneers got on the scoreboard first when junior Juan Sebastian Londono placed a corner kick for Marcus Hackett who headed it past the Ramapo netminder in the 11th minute.

The Roadrunners tied the game five minutes later as Dan Boffa dished a ball to Zach Savacool, who got the point for Ramapo at 15:52.  Hackett struck again putting William Paterson ahead, 2-1 at the 28:51 mark.

Mike Conte made it 3-1 just 3:16 into the second half before Ramapo scored the final goal with 1:26 remaining in the game.  It was sophomore Kevin Monaghan who got on the end of Boffa's bouncing corner kick, but it wasn't enough as Ramapo finished the game short, 2-3.

Mike Diacheysn posted seven saves for the Pioneers, and junior Brady O'Connor had four for Ramapo, as the two teams collected 11 shots each in the 90 minutes of play.

Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, October 1st when they host Rutgers Newark at 1pm at the Athletic Center.
