Hold the Pickle, Hold Lettuce, Add A Smart Phone At Burger King

By Edward Cardenas

SOUTHFIELD (CBS Detroit) - Burger King is offering Android users the opportunity to get a free phone as part of a promotion in conjunction with the release of the fast food restaurant's new Android app.

The chain is offering the free phone deal through its website, and not in a special meal with sandwich, fries and a drink.

To get a free phone, customers must obtain a new or upgraded two-year agreement with AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon. According to CNET, customers may also have credit checks, activation frees and other registration processes.

The article added that some of the phones offer include the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4, Motorola's Moto X and the LG Enact.

Once shoppers select a phone, they are transferred to Amazon to check out. While the phone may appear to be free, the article stated, additional features may result in extra charges.

As for the app, it offers a restaurant finder, menu and coupons. A mobile payment option is coming soon, according to the app.
