New Deadline for DAAD RISE

Please note that the deadline for applications for the DAAD RISE program has recently changed. The new deadline is January 15, 2015.

RISE is a summer internship program for undergraduate students from the United States, Canada and the UK in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences and engineering. RISE offers unique opportunities for Bachelor students to work with research groups at universities and top research institutions across Germany for a period of 2 to 3 months during the summer.

DAAD-AICGS Research Fellowship Program - Upcoming Deadline

The American Institute for Contemporary German Studies (AICGS), the leading resource and research center for analysis and assessment of the German-American relationship in an evolving Europe and changing world, is pleased to announce the DAAD-AICGS Research Fellowship Program. The program is designed to bring scholars and specialists working on Germany, Europe, and/or transatlantic relations to AICGS, which is located in Washington, DC, for stays of two months each.

The deadline to apply to this program is August 31, 2014.

Hans Rosenberg Book Prize � Deadline Extended

The Central European History Society (CEHS) solicits nominations for the Hans Rosenberg Book Prize. This annual prize honors the best book in central European history published in English by permanent residents of North America. This year�s award considers books with an imprint of 2013.

Central European history is understood to include all German-speaking countries, as well as areas previously included within the Habsburg monarchy. The CEHS discourages submissions of reprints, second editions, multi-authored anthologies, and document publications.

Nominations must be received by September 15, 2014.

The award will be announced at the annual meeting of the American Historical Association in New York City,
on 3 January 2015.
