Greetings!

The weather is about to heat back up and so is your inbox with HomesteadCS Headlines; including the low-down on our Open House, Annual Meeting, Second Quarter Success, NAP Credits, Happy Hour, and Upcoming Schedule!!

Thanks to our volunteer and staff-led Events Committee and Greater Lafayette Commerce, the HomesteadCS Ribbon Cutting and Open House was a success!

Early last month, we invited our clients, donors, and community to our new office to *officially* show off the hard work that our Board of Directors, partners, volunteers, and staff put in to making a new home for our organization.

THANK YOU DONORS!! --- THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!!

Also, special thanks to Pay Less Super Markets and First Republic Mortgage for providing refreshments!!

If you were unable to attend, please stop by sometime. Need directions? Maybe you can grab a 2013 HomesteadCS Annual Report while you're here? :-)

That’s right! The 2013 Annual Report is out AND, shortly after our open house, we held our Annual Meeting at the Tippecanoe County Public Library in Downtown Lafayette. In addition to re-electing our Board Officers, we discussed Homestead’s success over the last year, revealed our plans for the future, and recognized some very important partners:

Lafayette Savings Bank Over 30 Years of Support
State Farm Over 20 Years of Support
Power Place Products 2013 Platinum Key Club Member
Wabash National 2013 Gold Key Club Member
First Financial Bank 2013 Gold Key Club Member
Lafayette Life Foundation 2013 Silver Key Club Member
The Open House, Annual Meeting, and month of June are now behind us... and so is the first half of the year! Here is our program success at the halfway point of 2014:

2014 Accomplishments

2nd Quarter YTD 2014
HomeBuyer Education 20 Clients 31 Clients
Pre-purchase Counseling

Hardest Hit Fund Loan Awards $510,000 $1,440,000
Bank On Tippecanoe 0 Clients 3 Clients
Tenant Education 4 Clients 10 Clients

To put that $12.3+ million 'Value of Homes Saved' statistic in perspective, those homes included 100 area families (113 children). Unfortunately, there is still more work to be done and we can sure use a hand. Want to help?

There are a few simple ways to join Homestead's fight against foreclosure:

Guess what? It's NAP TIME!

Once again, Homestead was awarded NAP Credits to offer to financial supporters of our Housing Counseling and Education Programs.
The Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) offers $2.5 million in tax credits annually for distribution by not-for-profit corporations. Organizations use NAP tax credits as an incentive to help them leverage more contributions from individuals and businesses for certain neighborhood-based programs and projects. Tax credits are distributed to donors at 50% of the contribution amount and are subtracted from a donor's state income tax liability. http://www.in.gov/myihcda/2354.htm.
To find out how you can take advantage of this incentive and make an impact in our community, call our office at 765.423.1284.
Join us for the Second Annual HomesteadCS Happy Hour at Sgt. Preston's in Downtown Lafayette from 5-7pm on Wednesday, July 30th.
$15 admission includes dinner (burgers or chicken and sides), musical entertainment by Jeff Anderson-Singer/Songwriter, and...

Proceeds benefit HomesteadCS' Housing Counseling & Education Programs to support safe, affordable housing in our community!!

Bring a friend. Bring a co-worker. Bring the office. :-)

Sgt. Preston's is located at 6 N 2nd St. Lafayette, IN 47901.

Need a reminder? Add HomesteadCS Happy Hour to your Calendar!

Finally, many families are referred to us by their friends or family. So, we conclude HomesteadCS Headlines with our Programs and Events Calendar. The first step in decreasing foreclosure, increasing homeownership, and ensuring that families have safe, affordable homes is knowing that help is available.
