Hello, My name is Amanda. 3 weeks ago at age 27, I was diagnosed with Gestational Trophoblastic Neoplasia. ( Uterine Cancer ) I know most of you are wondering... "How did you find out?"
In February, I went to my OB-GYN to discuss a different form of birth control.When starting a new birth control they have to perform a pregnancy test. I had a "VERY POSITIVE" pregnancy test, by blood and urine. But no sac was ever seen In my uterus. Doctor's began to think I was having an Ectopic Preganacy. ( A pregnancy that devolpes inside your fallopian tubes. ) So they then proceeded to treat me with 2 rounds of methrotrexate injections ( Chemotherapy ) to abort whatever may have been in there. HCG levels were still rising. At this point my Doctor was now CONFUSED, and sent me to a GYN Oncologist... where he knew exactly what I had.
Since finding out, I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on Doctors appointments and labwork. Now to find out I have pay $576.00 every chemotherpay treatment-- every other Thursday. It is something I have to FIGHT! For Me, my SON, and my family. Hate to ask for anything, but ANYTHING will help.
