Police seek help finding Fort Lee father after SUV discovered atop Palisades cliffs

Hans Jong Lee, 50

FORT LEE — Police are asking for the public's help in finding a 50-year-old married father of two whose car was found abandoned above a Palisades cliff eight days ago.

Hans Jong Lee, also known as Hyung Jong Lee, was last seen April 7 at 11 a.m., according to police. Officers went to his borough home after Palisades Interstate Parkway police discovered his silver 2000 Honda SUV parked at the Rockefeller Lookout in Englewood Cliffs that night.

Officials launched a search of the area, calling in a state police helicopter, the New York City police harbor unit and Bergen County Sheriff's Office K-9 team, authorities said.

Detectives were continuing to investigate what led up to his reported disappearance, police added.

Jong Lee was described as 5-foot-7, 175 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes and a birthmark on his hand. He was last seen wearing beige pants, a light blue t-shirt and navy polo jacket.

Police urged anyone with information to call borough detectives at 201-592-3510 or 201-592-3700. Tips can also be emailed to police at TIPS@FortLeePolice.org.
