PORTLAND, Ore. – Following a two-game road sweep to close out the first half of conference play by Western Oregon University's men's basketball team, junior Jordan Wiley was named Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week thanks to a career performance against Simon Fraser and a key three-point basket late versus Western Washington.

Wiley combined to score 41 points (avg. 20.5) against Simon Fraser and Western Washington on 12-of-16 shooting from the field that included 9-for-11 from beyond the three-point line and 8-for-10 at the free throw line. Last week, Wiley shot a combined 75.0% from the field, 81.8% from long distance, and 80.0% at the free throw line to go along with nine rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

In Western Oregon's 114-75 victory over Simon Fraser on Thursday, Wiley scored a career-high 26 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field that included a 7-for-8 showing from beyond the three-point arc to equal the second highest total for three-pointers made in a game with just one miss in GNAC history. The 6-foot-6 guard also grabbed six rebounds, including four on the offensive glass, and registered a game-high tying two steals.

Two nights later in the Wolves' 90-87 come-from-behind win over Western Washington on Saturday, Wiley was one of five WOU players in double figures providing 15 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field with a pair of made baskets from long distance, including a key three-pointer with 1:49 left that helped kickstart Western Oregon's comeback in the final two minutes. Along with his offensive performance, Wiley also pulled down three rebounds and handed out three assists against the Vikings.

For the season, Wiley leads Western Oregon in three-pointers made with 49 and three-pointers attempted with 103. He also ranks second on the team in total points (219), points per game (11.5), and free throw percentage (81.0%).

Among the GNAC leaders, Wiley ranks in the Top 10 in five statistical categories that includes three-point field goal percentage (47.6% - 1st), three-pointers made (3rd), three-point field goals made per game (2.58 - 5th), three-pointers attempted (7th), and total steals (26 - 10th).

Wiley is also ranks in the Top 100 among all NCAA Division II players in three-point field goal percentage (16th), three-pointers made (55th), and three-point field goals made per game (83rd).

This is the first-ever weekly GNAC award for Wiley and the third of the year for Western Oregon's men's basketball program.

Western Oregon (16-3, 8-1 GNAC) will play a pair of home games this week when the Wolves host Montana State Billings on Thursday, January 29, followed by a match-up with Seattle Pacific on Saturday, January 31. Both games will tip-off at 7 p.m. inside the New PE Building in Monmouth.
