(Oct. 21, 2014) – The Maritime men's soccer team rallied to score two second-half goals and defeat Skyline opponent Yeshiva University, 2-1, on the road Tuesday night at Tibbetts Brook Park. Junior
Taylor McFadzen (Northport, N.Y./Northport) scored the game-winning goal with just 38 seconds remaining in regulation off of a throw-in by senior
Tim Swinehart (Clearwater, Fla./Central Catholic). It was McFadzen's second goal of the season and Swinehart's league-leading 10th assist of the year. That goal came about 24 minutes after Maritime tied the game up on what was credited as an own goal by Yeshiva in the 66th minute.
Yeshiva struck first with a header goal by freshman Agustin Cygiel in the 42nd minute off of a corner kick by senior Leon Aboudi. The Maccabees outshot the Privateers, 11-5, in the opening half and junior keeper
Karl Weber (Northport, N.Y./Northport) made six saves before YU scored late in the stanza to take the lead.
The Privateers evened out the momentum in the second half, as the shot total was tied between the two teams, 6-6. Maritime turned up the pressure late, scoring the game-tying and game-winning goals in the final 25 minutes. Weber made three more saves to end the night with nine stops, as he earned his third straight Skyline victory, while Yeshiva's freshman keeper, Maor Feinstein, made his only three saves of the night in the second half.
Maritime will return to the pitch on Saturday, October 25, with a key matchup against Skyline foe St. Joseph's. Opening kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Golden Eagles' Outdoor Field Complex. Live stats will be available at
