How an air-conditioning mechanic in Sydney Australia became an award winning broadcaster in Britain; Part 217.

04May16

The people who lead the most interesting lives at radio stations tend not to be the presenters. At one radio station I worked at, one of the ladies in the sales team had an interesting experience after meeting a bloke through an internet dating site.

“I’ve been on your radio station!”, he said on their first date. Thinking he may have been a prize winner or even be an advertiser, she asked him to tell her more. He said he’d been on the news.

Now she was thinking that he might have been interviewed for doing something heroic until he said, “I bit a bloke’s ear off in a fight!”

He went on to explain that it was actually a report of his arrest and court appearance that had been broadcast on the news.

There wasn’t a second date.
