Download Foo Fighters’ Surprise EP ‘Saint Cecilia’

The mysterious clock counting down on the Foo Fighters website came to an end on Sunday night and the alt-rock icons unveiled their rumored surprise: a new five-track EP called Saint Cecilia. Back in October, Dave Grohl hinted that he and the band had recorded a few new songs while in Texas for Austin City Limits, and now those tracks have surfaced on streaming sites just six weeks later. They’re generously offering the whole thing as a free download over at their website, where you can also read Grohl’s lengthy statement on the backstory of the “celebration of life and music.” You can also listen right here via Spotify or pre-order the vinyl release.

The EP was recorded live in Austin’s Saint Cecilia Hotel with help from the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Gary Clark Jr. and Ben Kweller.
