Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's tennis team hosted the Ramapo Invitational today at the Athletic Center. The singles only tournament included the Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham, Saint Thomas Aquinas College and the Roadrunners. The tournament totaled seven flights.
Willen Feygin defeated Mitch Gettis of FDU-Florham, 6-2, 6-1 before falling to Inigo Aldekoa of STAC, 1-6, 0-6, in flight one. In flight two,
Jacob Khodakov defeated Max Moscowitz of FDU-Florham, 7-6. He retired his match against STAC's Munoz-Laguna in the second set, 4-6, 4-4. In flight three,
Mike Abelev defeated FDU-Florham's Jason Pubinsky, 6-0, 6-0 before falling to Aaron Stahl of STAC, 4-6, 3-6.
Justin Bevilacqua posted two wins in flight four. He recorded a 6-0, 6-2; win over Chris Ly of FDU-Florham before shutting out Chris Jonas of STAC, 6-0, 6-0.
Adam Petrovics also recorded two wins at flight five. He defeated Nikola Radovic of FDU-Florham (6-1, 6-3) before defeating Mike Tasaro of STAC (6-2, 6-1).
Mike Friedman tallied two wins in flight six; he shutout Luis Rojas (6-0, 6-0) before downing Tom Schumann of STAC, 6-4, 6-0. Phil Fuster earned three wins over opponents, all from FDU-Florham.
Matt Talmage earned two wins over FDU-Florham and
John Seaman tallied two wins over FDU-Florham.
The Roadrunners return to action next Saturday, September 27th when they host the Roadrunner Doubles Invitational at 10am. Ramapo will take on Rutgers-Camden University and Purchase College.
