Join Growing Food and Sustainability’s Cooperative Farm!

Growing Food and Sustainability has been running a Youth Farm program for three years. This year we are transitioning to a cooperative model! We are looking for people to join our team of volunteer cooperative members who are excited about growing healthy food and strong relationships together. Co-op members will learn from each other by sharing our skills and resources, and by co-managing a Youth Farm and CSA program.

Expectations of Co-op Members:

  • Attend at least 2 weekend spring workdays (Options: Friday, March 13th 12-2:30pm, Saturday, April 11th 10am-12:30pm, Saturday, April 25th 10am-12:30pm, Friday, May 8th 12-2:30pm)
  • 8 hours of farm labor each week during the peak growing season (May 18th-August 30th)
  • 4 hours of farm labor each week during the fall growing season (August 31st-November 15th)
  • Attend weekly Friday planning meetings from 4-5pm (May 18th-August 30th)

Benefits of Being a Co-op Member:

  • Weekly supply of farm fresh produce
  • Active participation and decision-making in a unique farming venture with great potential for individual learning and collaborative projects
    • Learn how to manage a CSA program
    • Learn how to grow food for yourself and your community!
    • Experience working as part of a cooperative team
