Women in Science
Thursday, April 2, 2015
12:30-2 p.m. in 105 Cargill Building

Join us for a panel conversation with Dr. Carolyn Finney and Dr. Mary Jo Ondrechen as they share they journey as women in scientific fields.  Women faculty remain underrepresented in scientific disciplines, are paid less than their male counterparts and many find that their work style and research interests/methods are frequently questioned or undervalued.  Additionally, recent research continues to identify a persistent wage gap (true here at the University of Minnesota as well) and hiring bias against women in the the sciences. These and many other issues impact the ability of women to build meaningful careers in scientific disciplines. Come and visit with our speakers and participate in a conversation to share your impressions on how to create a more equitable workplace for women.
