Why this petition matters

Started by Edward Crisp

Please go to the planning document on the Sheffield County Council website, make an account and tell them your reasons for opposing this decision.

Planning permission has recently been sought to demolish a large area of historical buildings within the Cultural Industries Quarter of Sheffield; a conservation area currently used by a number of small businesses, artists, and musicians, providing space that is important for the continued cultural development of the city.

A number of currently occupied buildings in Sidney Street, Matilda Street, Arundel Street and Sylvester Street are set to be demolished, resulting in the destruction of a culturally significant area of the city.

It would be a shame to lose yet another part of Sheffield's history rather than developing the culture of the city.
