INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI Head Softball Coach Amanda Rivera announced today that Brooke Boetjer has joined the softball program and she will be eligible to suit up for the 2014-15 campaign.

Boetjer played at Indiana University the past two seasons where she struck out 145 batters over 190.0 innings. She made 68 appearances and started 19 games during her two-year stint in Bloomington, Ind., and posted a record of 5-12.

"Brooke is a difference-maker for our program and I can't describe how excited we are for her to join our family," Rivera said. "She works hard at her game and she has shown that she has the ability to dominate a game. I have no doubt that our fans will enjoy coming out to the IUPUI Softball Complex to watch her play."

Boetjer had a decorated prep career at South Putnam High School where she was named the Gatorade Indiana Softball Player of the Year and Indiana Miss Softball as a senior in addition to being named an All-State performer twice.

During her career, Boetjer went 72-4 in the circle for South Putnam with an ERA of 0.39, including a perfect 22-0 record with 168 strikeouts and a 0.15 ERA as a senior en route to South Putnam's second straight state title.

Out of high school, Boetjer was recruited nationally as a ESPNHS Second-Team All-American before signing a National Letter of Intent with the Hoosiers.

Boetjer joins an IUPUI team that welcomes back 15 returners from last year's squad, including three all-conference performers in Ali Mosier, Roni Patterson and Taylor Chitwood. The Jags are coming off a 24-24 season in 2014, the most wins for the program since 1999.
