CMG – Search warrant executed, Gold Coast

In continued enforcement action against criminal gangs, detectives from Task Force Maxima executed a search warrant at a Southport address on Thursday, July 10, targeting the Black Uhlans Criminal Motorcycle gang.

The early morning raid saw the location and seizure of alleged stolen property in excess of $10,000.00, including a compressor, a vehicle trailer and motorcycle.  Police will also allege they located drug paraphernalia and ammunition.

A 26-year-old Southport man, who is alleged to be a patched member of the Black Uhlans criminal motorcycle gang, was arrested and charged with two counts each of stealing and receiving stolen property, one count each of wilful damage, possession of explosive and possession of a drug utensil.

He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court this morning.

Detective Inspector Brendan Smith of Task Force Maxima said this is a clear example of the variety of crimes these gang members commit.

“They are opportunistic, taking advantage of any situation to further their criminal activities, often at the expense of everyday Queenslanders.

“This is why we will continue to target criminal gangs.  It is important we do all we can to change their offending behaviour to protect Queenslanders,” he said.
