Beer jelly beans are here.

Jelly Belly, the Fairfield, Calif.-based candy company behind Buttered Popcorn and Cream Soda jelly beans, has announced a new flavor: Draft Beer.

The beer jelly beans were “inspired by a Hefeweizen ale with a clean, crisp and wheaty taste.”

“Beer connoisseurs will find the flavor profile to be clean with notes of wheat and a touch of sweetness,” the company said in a press release. “The aroma is mildly bready.”

It took Jelly Belly three years to develop the recipe, which “includes top secret ingredients.”

Customers have been requesting beer beans for decades, Jelly Belly said.

But you won’t find booze in these shiny golden beans. The company says the jelly beans are alcohol-free.

Beer lovers and curious customers can pick up the beans in stores in the spring. The beer-flavored jelly beans are also available in bulk on Jelly Belly’s website. As of Wednesday morning, the 16-ounce bags were sold out, but Jelly Belly says they will be back on tap by Friday.

Jelly Belly is no stranger to producing non-traditional flavors. The company released Dark Chocolate Covered Tabasco jelly beans in December, and has a line of cocktail-inspired candies.
