Update 4 – Missing woman – ‘Golden Hole’ near Josephine Falls

Police continue their search for a 30-year-old Innisfail woman, Shannon Leah Fraser, reported missing from ‘Golden Hole’, Biggs Road at Bartle Frere near Josephine Falls around 3pm on Sunday afternoon.

Inspector Rhys Newton today continued the police appeal for assistance from the public for information that might help locate Ms Fraser.
He said, “We need to speak to anyone who was in that vicinity on Sunday as we are revisiting information received already.

“That also goes for anyone who may have information which may assist us with her location.”

Police and members of the State Emergency Service have been involved in land, water and air searches over the past three days which focused on the area around the popular ‘Golden Hole’.

Shannon attended ‘Golden Hole’ with her partner and another man who was known to her on Sunday morning. The alarm was raised after Shannon failed to return to the vehicle after becoming separated from the two men.

Shannon is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 175cm tall, with a heavy build and dark brown hair.

She was last seen sitting under a gazebo wearing a black t-shirt, grey leggings, black thongs with a silver strip on them and was carrying a red towel.
Police are urging anyone who was in the area around ‘Golden Hole’ on Sunday, regardless if they have spoken to police or not, are urged to make contact with the Cairns CIB on Ph: 07 4030 7153.
