Wilmington, Del.- The first-place Georgian Court University women's volleyball squad achieved redemption from an early-season home loss vs. Goldey-Beacom College as the Lions blanked the host-Lightning, 3-0, Wednesday evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action.
Having suffered the same 3-0 demise vs.Goldey-Beacom back on September 11 in the Wellness Center, GCU evened the score with set victories of 25-16, 25-18, and 26-24 to improve to 16-12 on the year (12-3 CACC).
Tatiana Villariny-Rodriguez and
Jennifer Smith topped the road team with nine kills each as
Kelsey Oliver dished a match-best 33 assists.
Francheska Cedres controlled 16 digs while Smith followed with 10 of her own.
Kadi McCoy shined for the Lightning (12-15, 6-11 CACC) with a double-double effort of 11 kills and 12 digs.
Danielle Cipolletti garnered 19 assists and eight digs while
Mackenzie Wilson registered a team-high 13 digs.
GCU returns home Friday for a Halloween home match vs. Chestnut Hill College. Start time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
