Pussy Riot

Pussy Riot is a Russian, feminist, punk rockprotest group. They came to the attention of the Western media in early 2012 when three members were arrested for staging an anti-Putin demonstration in the Christ the Saviour cathedral in Moscow. Masha Alyokina and Nadya Tolokonnikova spent 21 months in jail for their efforts. The two joined Jenni to talk about prison, their ongoing protest work and living with a continued threat to their safety.

Brook at 50

In 1964 Helen Brook opened the first clinic in the UK to offer family planning advice for young unmarried people.  In July 1989, Helen came onto Woman’s Hour to tell Helen Boaden about the early days of family planning.  Fifty years on, Brook now has centres across the UK and its work is split between clinical advice and campaigning for sexual health on behalf of young people. Simon Blake, CEO of Brook joins Jenni Murray to talk about what’s next for the charity.

Britain's child migrants

From the 1860’s over 100,000 children were sent from Britain to Canada, Australia and other Commonwealth countries through child migration schemes. The Merseyside Maritime Museum, are holding an exhibition called ‘On their own: Britain’s child migrants, which explores the lives of the child migrants sent from Britain. Jenni speaks to Eleanor Moffat, a curator from the museum and Tony Chambers, a former child migrant.
