The Poetry Café, London, was packed yesterday evening for the launch of the new exhibition and anthology, Over the Line. An Introduction to Poetry Comics. Over the Line presents contemporary collaborations in poetry and sequential art, a fascinating hybrid artform that dates back to the New York School poets’ experiments in the 1960s. Curator and host Chrissy Williams introduced readings and discussions by John Aggs, Amy Key, Chris McCabe and Sophie Herxheimer. Copies of the book, which is published by Sidekick Books, price £15, are on sale at The Poetry Café throughout the exhibition. Over the Line continues until 31 October 2015.
Book now for the all-day Poetry and Comics workshop with Chrissy Williams, a hands-on introduction to the subject, with writing, visual exercises and making. This will be held in The Poetry Café, Saturday 5 September 2015, 11 am – 5 pm.
