Nine Freshmen and One Transfer Make Up Signing Class



The largest recruiting class in Lee University cross country and track & field history will join the Lady Flames for 2015-16, announced head coach Caleb Morgan

 "Recruiting is the cornerstone to developing and sustaining a successful program," Morgan said. "We have brought in a number of distance runners who we believe will make us a contender for this year's GSC championship."

"We have picked up a number of athletes who will compete in track & field events we haven't had athletes in before. The quality of the athletes we have brought in should make us a top 25 program in DII for this coming spring."
 

Syvone Anderson (Maryville High School -- Maryville, Tenn.)
    Personal Records: Triple Jump (38'7), 100m hurdles (15.21), 200m (25.51), Long jump (16'8)
         • Tennessee state runner-up in triple jump
         • Four-time all-state athlete (triple jump in 2013 and 2014;  4x200m in 2013 and 2014)
         
Lee head coach Caleb Morgan said: "Syvone is a fantastic triple jumper. She has already achieved the D2 national qualifying standard as a high schooler. She can do any event. We are excited to see what her potential is in the heptathlon. She will be a big scorer at this year's conference meet."

Kiley Brock (Mount Dora Christian Academy – Mount Dora, Fla.)
    Personal Records: 100m (12.19), 200m (25.51)
         • Florida State runner-up in 100m
         • 3rd place in 200m at Florida state meet
 
Lee head coach Caleb Morgan said: "Kiley had a big senior year in the 100m and 200m. She has a ton of potential and will be a big part of our women's 4x100m relay.  We look for her to be one of the top 100m runners in our conference."

Lacey Duvall (Brentwood High School -- Nashville, Tenn.)
    Personal Records: 1 mile (5:18), 5k XC (19:12), 800m (2:22)
         • 4x800m relay state champion
         • All-state cross country (9th place)

Lee head coach Caleb Morgan said: "Lacey is a great all around runner. She has run fast times on the cross country course, as well as in the mile and 800m. She comes from a great high school program and understands what it takes to compete at a high level. She has a great shot at being in our top five as a freshman in cross country."

 Amanda Hegarty (Twin Valley High School – Twin Valley, Pa.)
    Personal Records: 100m (12.70), 200m (26.42)
         • All-region 100m
         • All-region 200m
       
Lee head coach Caleb Morgan said: "Amanda has a lot of potential in the 200m. She is very underdeveloped and will make big gains as a freshman training with a large group of sprinters.  She will be part of our women's 4x100m relay."

Logan Hernandez (Macon County High School – Lafayette, Tenn.)
    Personal Records: 1600m (5:38), 3200m (12:02), 5k XC (20:05)
         •Two-time all-region cross-country
         • Two-time all-region 3200m

Lee head coach Caleb Morgan said: "Logan has a lot of potential. She is a hard worker and consistently dropped time each year of high school. I am excited to see how she performs in a new training environment."

 Mackenzie Mayer (Chamberlain High School – Tampa, Fla.)
    Personal Records: 1 mile (5:43), 3 mile (20:02)
         • All-region 1 mile
         • All-region cross country

Lee head coach Caleb Morgan said: "Mackenzie is a late addition to our roster. She started improving at a fast rate at the end of her senior year, dropping her mile time down over 20 seconds."

 
Brooke Preston (Dayton Christian School – Miamisburg, Ohio)
    Personal Records: 300m hurdles (49.10), 100m (12.81), 200m (27.10)
         • Conference runner-up 100m
         • 4th place in conference meet 200m
       
Lee head coach Caleb Morgan said: "Brooke will be part of our 4x100m relay team and will also compete in hurdle events. She has potential at a number of events."
 

Savannah Ratcliff (South Forsyth High School-- Cumming, Ga.)
    Personal Records: 5k XC (19:37), 1 mile (5:36)
         • Three-time state qualifier cross country
         •Three-time all-region cross country

Lee head coach Caleb Morgan said: "Savannah had a rough senior year battling anemia. She dropped a lot of time late in the season once it was under control. She has a lot of potential and a willingness to work hard. She is much faster than her PRs indicate. She will surprise a lot of people this fall."

 Addie Strode (Cleveland High School – Cleveland, Tenn.)
    Personal Records: Discus (89'0), shot put (29'0)

Lee head coach Caleb Morgan said: "Addie was a late addition to our roster. We are very excited about having a thrower. She has a lot of strength and will contribute at the conference level in a number of throwing events."
 
Hannah Williams (Indiana Wesleyan—Marion, Ind.)
    Personal Records: 400m hurdles (63.41), 400m (58.20)
         • Three-time NCCAA All-American
         •4th in NCCAA 300m hurdles

Lee head coach Caleb Morgan said: "We are very excited to have Hannah as part of our roster. In her first two years of college she competed at NAIA nationals four times. She is very close to the D2 qualifying mark in the 400m hurdles. She will also be part of our very competitive 4x400m relay team."
