Volleyball Signs Three for 2015

Head Coach Tim Loesch is proud to announce the addition of three student-athletes to their 2015 team as the Falcons have signed Taylor Black, Brittney Griffith, and Karlee Troeh.

 "These three young women each have the potential to help our team immediately on the court," Loesch said. "They are also good students that will be successful in the classroom at UTPB.  In addition, they have the work ethic and positive attitude to fit into our team culture here.  We are excited to have them join our team this August!"

 

Taylor Black – Freshman - Setter – 5'9" - Leander, Texas - Rouse High School

Top 5% of her graduating class.  National Honor Society for 2 years.  Spanish Honor Society for 3 years.  Rouse Scholar Award for 3 years.  She plans to study Engineering, Math, or Science at UTPB.

 Led her Rouse High School team to the state playoffs for the first time ever this year.  Holds the career assist record at Rouse.  Academic All-District 3 years.  All-District Honorable Mention 2 years.  All-Area Honorable Mention her senior year.

Taylor has been playing club volleyball for four years years. Her team this year, Austin Performance 18's team AP Eclectic, qualified for the USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championship tournament in the Open division, which will be held in New Orleans this summer.

 

Brittney Griffith – Junior – Outside Hitter – 6'1" – Wichita Falls, Texas - Trinity Valley Community College

Transfer from Trinity Valley Community College where she earned her Associate degree.  She plans to study Kinesiology at UTPB.  Graduated from Archer City High School.

Brittney helped her TVCC team to 30-9 record this past season and a NJCAA ranking of #20 after advancing to the 3rd round of the Region XIV tournament.  She led her TVCC team in kills and earned All-Conference Honorable Mention.

 

Karlee Troeh – Junior – Setter/Opposite – 5'10" – San Diego City College - Puyallup, Washington.

Transfer from San Diego City College, making the Dean's list every semester and graduated this spring.  She plans to study Kinesiology at UTPB.  Graduated from Gov. John R. Rogers High School.

Karlee led her SDCC team in kills, aces, and blocks.  Earned 2nd team All-Conference as a freshman and 1st team All-Conference as a sophomore.  Earned Academic All-Conference both seasons.
