Abandoned and desolate amusement parks are some of the scariest places on earth, AMIRITE?
For the past several years, photographer Seph Lawless has been traveling the world, chronicling their demise.
He traveled to ten parks across two continents for the project and has collected them all in a new book called Bizarro: The World's Most Hauntingly Beautiful Abandoned Theme Parks.
His aim? To use photography to "inspire social awareness," he told BuzzFeed Life.
How eerie are these abandoned swings at the Lake Shawnee Amusement Park in West Virginia?
If some of the photos feel particularly menacing, that's because many of them were actually shot during tornado season in Kansas and Oklahoma.
These images are from Six Flags New Orleans, which was shut down right before Hurricane Katrina.
After Hurricane Katrina, the park became overgrown, and wildlife moved in. Here's an alligator just chilling in a pool near a rollercoaster.
These images are from the long-abandoned Spreepark in the former East Germany.
The park officially closed in 2002, though you can occasionally tour the grounds. Several of the park's main attractions were actually shipped by its owners to Peru, where they tried and failed to open a new park in Lima.
These photographs are from the Geauga Lake Amusement Park in Aurora, Ohio.
The park actually installed its first ride in 1889, and shut down in 2007.
His images present a forlorn dystopian world that'll make your skin crawl.
