NEWARK, NJ - Women's Volleyball Athlete Valerie Carroll, from Midlothian, VA, was named NJIT Female Athlete of the Week for her performance through September 22.
 
The senior had 28 kills, and 13 block assists earning 37.5 total points in the Highlanders win against Fairleigh Dickinson and three matches over the weekend at the CCSU Blue Devil Invitational.
 
In the Highlanders 3-1 win against FDU, Carroll led her team in blocks with eight and added six digs.
 
During the Blue Devil Invitational, Carroll recorded a match-high 11 kills in the Highlanders 3-1 loss to Hartford. For her efforts in the Invitational she was the only Highlander named to the All-Tournament team.
