Denver Human Services provides assistance benefits and protection and prevention services to one in three Denver residents. Assistance programs include food, cash and medical benefits, child care, child support, employment first, veterans' services and general assistance for eligible Denver residents. Protection & Prevention services are provided via child, youth and adult protection, along with community-focused programming, including in-home services, designed to strengthen families and prevent future occurrences of abuse or neglect.

About Our Job

Denver Human Services is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Agency Trainer to serve its Child Support Services (CSS) division. In this role, the Agency Trainer will support the CSS vision by offering leadership in knowledge transfer through curriculum development, classroom, and one-on-one training sessions.  The ideal candidate must have a sincere passion for training others, have excellent organizational and communication skills, accept accountability for their actions, and exhibit an unwavering loyalty to the CSS and DHS mission.
 
The Child Support Services division partners with Federal, state, tribal, and local governments and others to promote parental responsibility so that children receive support from both parents, even when they live in separate households. Nationally, the child support program is one of the largest income-support programs for families, contributing money to family budgets to help pay for the basics – shelter, food, child care, transportation, and school clothes. We strive to provide family centered services and are incorporating innovative strategies that improve the reliability of child support payments. 
The Child Support Services Agency Trainer will be expected to:

  • Enhance the knowledge base for over 100 division employees for job related duties and responsibilities, including operational maintenance procedures, technical training on the Automated Child Support Computer System (ACSES)
  • Communicate proactively with employees to help remove barriers to improvement
  • Develop and design new worker and on-going training modules that include learning objectives, interactive activities and exercises, and teaching strategies to maximize retention of subject matter
  • Use supporting materials that include available types of media when training
  • Develop and provide training modules on new policies and procedures and system enhancements
  • Develop and conduct training evaluations for each module
  • Prepare and retain individual training plans and employee progress notes
  • Coordinate training sessions with other agency trainers and work cooperatively with others to provide a successful training program
Authorized Hiring Range: $50,038.00-$65,050.00 annually

About You

Our idea candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Education, Communications, English, Social Services, or a related field
  • 3-5 Years of Child Support Program Experience including ACSES
  • Experience with Adult Education, including training and curriculum development
  • Public speaking and presentation skills

Hiring Range: $50,038.00-$65,050.00 annually

Assessments/Testing: This position does not require testing.
