The Poetry Society is delighted to announce that multi-award-winning poet Don Mee Choi will be making a rare visit to the UK to give the 2024 Poetry Society Annual Lecture on 9 May 2024. The lecture can be attended online or in-person at the Tung Auditorium, Yoko Ono Lennon Centre at the University of Liverpool.

This is the latest event in the prestigious Kenneth Allott / Poetry Society Annual Lecture series commissioned in collaboration with the Department of English, University of Liverpool. Each year, the series introduces one of the leading voices in international poetry to share a new lecture, accompanied by a short performance of their poems.

The Poetry Society’s Annual Lecture Series has been proud to commission many of the most influential voices in international poetry. Poets who have given earlier lectures include Ilya Kaminsky, Anne Carson, Valzhyna Mort, Les Murray, Eavan Boland, C K Williams, Rita Dove, Terrance Hayes, Paul Muldoon, and Charles Simic.  Lectures are published in The Poetry Review.
