The folks behind The Burlington, Logan Square's infamous hipster dive, have gone a new route with their new sandwich spot in the former Brown Sack space. Wyler Road soft opens today and fully opens on July 29, backed by chef de cuisine Shay Linkus (Vanguard, Odd Duck) and executive chef Forster Sorensen (Au Cheval, Green Street Smoked Meats).

And just like the The Burlington, which is named after the town in Wisconsin, Wyler Road has named for a street that America's Dairyland town. The bar, which will initially be open Thursday through Saturday until 2 a.m., will feature about 20 beers and boozy floats. There's room for 50 to 60 seats inside with about 40 to 50 more outdoors. Chris Dandino, who owns the restaurant with his brother, told the Tribune that they're hoping to attract families and a much more broader crowd compared to The Burlington. The Brown Sack closed in October.

There's 21 sandwiches on the menu, with a predictable focus on locally-sourced ingredients to give patrons something different compared to what they'd find at Potbelly or Subway. Sandwiches range from $7 to $16 and come with house-made chips. There's a grilled cheese menu, as well as fried selections (clam belly and haddock). Salads also get an inclusion.

Cold sandwiches include a turkey (malt aioli, spinach, Hook's two-year cheddar) on wheat; a chicken salad (chicken breast, fried chicken Skin, chimichuri, sour grape jam) on wheat; and a spicy tofu (grilled avocado, veganaise, pea shoots, Co-Op Hot Sauce) on batard. There's also a variety of hot selections like the hot deli bologna; rib eye (onion rings, chimichurri, au jus) on cocktail rye. Also, of note, there's their version of a Philly cheesesteak with veal heart. While that item is exempt, many sandwiches can be made vegan or veggie.

Besides the beer, there's a small batch of house cocktails including the Wisconsin Old Fashioned (Christian Brothers brandy, Grand Gala, Luxardo, bitters). Check out the menus below.

Wyler Road, open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sunday though Monday. The bar will be open until 2 a.m. on Thursday to Saturday at launch, 3581 W. Belden Ave., (773) 661-0675.
