The Emory University track & field teams are back in action this weekend as they head back to the Birmingham Crossplex for the Samford Invitational. Emory will enter the meet with the no.-1 women’s team in the South Region and the second best men’s team in the latest regional rankings released by USTFCCCA.com on Tuesday afternoon.

The Eagles will be competing against 40 other teams and a field comprised of mostly Division I athletes. Along with Emory, Akron (M&W), Alabama (M), Alabama A&M (M&W), Alabama-Huntsville (M&W), Arkansas State (M&W), Arkansas-Little Rock (M), Belhaven (M&W), Benedict (M&W), Berry (M), Birmingham-Southern (M&W), Charleston Southern (M&W), Embry-Riddle (M&W), Emory (M&W), Fisk (M&W), Georgia (M&W), Georgia Southern (W), Georgia State (W), Hinds CC (M&W), Jacksonville St. (W), Keiser University (M&W), Lee (Tenn.) (M&W), Life (W), Meridian CC (M&W), Milligan (M&W), Mobile (M&W), Montevallo (M&W), Montreat (M), Oglethorpe (M&W), Reinhardt (M&W), Shorter (M&W), Southern Arkansas (M&W), Southern Illinois (M&W), Southern Miss. (M&W), Tennessee St. (M&W), Tennessee Wesleyan (M), Texas State (M&W), Trevecca Nazarene (M&W), Troy (M&W), Tulane (W), UAB (W), UL-Monroe (M&W), Union (Tenn.) (M), Webber (M&W), West Alabama (M&W), Western Michigan (W), Winthrop (M&W), Wofford (M&W), Blue Lightning Sports Track Cl (M) and Samford (M&W) are set to compete at the meet.

There will be select events on Friday night with the high jump, weight throw, 200m Dash and 5,000m Run with the majority of events taking place on Saturday. The weight throw and long jump events kick things off at 9:00 AM and will continue until the 4x400m Relays at 6:50 PM. A full schedule of events can be found here.
