West Michigan Symphony's first Masterworks concert of '15 welcomes Music Director Scott Speck back to the podium and features its President and CEO, Carla Hill, narrating Voices from the Gallery, a witty and moving work by the late Stephen Paulus. West Michigan Symphony principal bassoon, Vincent Karamanov, performs Mozart’s sublime and dancelike Bassoon Concerto in B-Flat Major and the WMS performs Tchaikovsky’s tribute to the immortal Amadeus in Theme and Variations from Mozartina. The concert closes with Symphony No.104, a piece by the prolific composer Franz Joseph Haydn, a mature master with a mischievous sense of humor.

A Russian inspired piano trio program with WMS associate principal cellist Igor Cerkovic, WMS violinist Oleg Bezuglov and pianist Natalia Beuglova performing Tchaikovsky’s Piano Trio in A minor, Op. 50 and the Shostakovich Piano Trio No. 2 in E minor, Op. 67.
