We are coming up to Thanksgiving and thoughts are going toward what we areĀ  thankful for in our lives. In general throughout the year I saw spontaneous expressions of gratitude as postings on Facebook and spoke with people who were keeping a daily gratitude journal. I have much for which I am grateful.

This article is a little different because it is not about the expression of gratitude but about allowing the receiving of gratitude. Just as there is an in-breath before the out-breath, this is an invitation to receive that which we are reminded to give.

I also felt drawn to present these words in the form of meditation.

Find a place where you can be still.

Center yourself with slow, deep, inhalations and exhalations.

When you feel ready, as you breathe in allow yourself to feel flowing to you….

Gratitude from the thousand people whose lives you touched with some small gesture of kindness done spontaneously and long forgotten by you but perhaps remembered by them for a lifetime.

Breathe and take it in…..

Gratitude felt by those close to you for your presence in their lives.

Breathe and take it in….

Gratitude from the seven generations and more of your ancestors who smile because you live.

Breathe and take it in….

Gratitude from the Earth and her community.

Breathe and take it in….

Gratitude from the Universe for your presence as a being of light.

Breathe and take it in….

Take a few minutes and with your eyes closed, as you breathe in, allow yourself to fill with the gratitude flowing to you.
