CHAPTER FIFTEEN – important beats:
- Rochelle and Blackwell make a deal. Though – other than his obsession with Jade – it’s not completely clear what Blackwell is hoping Rochelle will see, what future he is hoping to thwart? Perhaps simply any future he doesn’t like the look of.
- Too many realizations to sort through … “I didn’t have an unknown psychotic disorder.”
- Questions about magic? If it’s real, then what? “Was magic energy? The energy I felt when I touched Beau, Jade, and Blackwell? Energy from where? And why me? What purpose did the visions have?”

Oh man… It’s funny watching Rochelle repeat Jades actions of jumping out the bathroom window. Funny how things wind up repeating themselves. Jade is so understanding. Though I’m curious as to how she kept Desmond occupied, and then conversation(s) that happened around the wolves seeking out Rochelle as well as when they came back empty handed. Also, what happened to Lara.
Rochelle and Blackwell texting was certainly interesting. And if she was so concerned about thwarting the vision, why not just change the location??
She couldn’t change the location because she was worried that the vision would happen without her at the parking lot anyway. Or happen there later. She felt like she needed to alter the vision, not just meeting with Blackwell elsewhere and hoping the vision didn’t happen the next day through some Pack set-up.
It was important to keep this book about Rochelle, what she “sees” specifically. The Jade/Desmond storyline really, really wanted to overwhelm the narrative. So I had to really pull it back. So unless she meets with Jade and asks her about Desmond or meets with Lara and asks her what happened when they touched, then we don’t get to see those scenes. 😦
Yeah that makes sense. And I can see the struggle with the balance you had between Rochelle and Jade. I do hope that Rochelle has some epiphanies about what happens when she touches people when she’s in X mood and that we can see why Lara kept getting the brunt of it all in this first book.
There will definitely be much exploration and training in Oracle 2
