The EPA recently updated its Superfund list to include 1,340 locations across the US that are within one mile of more than 20 million Americans. These sites are polluted with toxic waste. New Jersey has the most with 155 across the state, followed by California with 96. Superfund sites are where hazardous materials were dumped, left out or improperly managed. The name was created as a program to providing funding to repurpose the toxic land. But only this year has any money been recently added to help communities drowning in waste.

NEW The house where the body of 12-year-old boy Jaylen Griffin was found has a chilling past as he is the fourth body discovered at 107 Sheffield Avenue in four years. 911 logs revealed that 107 Sheffield has been the subject of more than 160 complaints since 2007, ranging from domestic violence, fire, wellness checks, and the discovery of bodies. Local police records obtained by WIVB found that a welfare check in June 2020 resulted in the discovery of a body at the house. Separately in September 2022, a report of dead body resulted in an arrest. Another body was found in the yard of the house a year later in August 2023.

Anti-Israel activists who are camped out on the campus of Columbia University in New York City have been given two more days to continue their protest before being required to disperse, after they ignored a previous order from under fire college president Minouche Shafik, shown right testifying before congress last week, to break up the encampment. Shafik had earlier told protesters to leave the camp by midnight Tuesday. The group has been there since last Wednesday, chanting pro-Palestine slogans and holding rallies calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. On Tuesday night, one activist told a captivated crowd that more protesters were needed, shown center, amid reports that NYPD counterterrorism officers were being deployed nearby. One group claimed in a social media post that university officials threatened them by saying that the National Guard would be brought in to smash the mob. 

The daughter of 'Squad' member Ilhan Omar has faced criticism over claims that she was sprayed with chemical weapons during a pro-Palestine protest at Columbia University. Irsa Hirsi, 21, appeared on MSNBC alongside another student Monday night to blast the school over its handling of the fallout from the demonstrations. 'There is definitely some hypocrisy here,' Hirsi said. 'You can kind of see it with the students that sprayed us with the chemical weapons and the fact that there is no public information as to what happened to them.' While it is unclear what 'chemical' Hirsi was referring to, a Jewish student was suspended after spraying a foul-smelling liquid on protesters during a demonstration in January. The student, identified only as 'John Doe,' filed a lawsuit against the university last week, claiming he sprayed 'gag gifts' called 'Liquid Ass' and 'Wet Farts' into the air during the rally and 'not directly at any individual.' Actor and comedian Michael Rapaport hit back at Hirsi's claims on X, formerly Twitter, writing, 'We're heading down Jussie Smollet (sic) Street with this.'

Police have described an horrific scene that took place Sunday night in Oklahoma in which a seemingly loving husband and father killed his wife, and three of their sons before turning the gun on himself, leaving his other son, 10, to discover the bodies. The terrifying crime left neighbors in a quiet Oklahoma City suburb shocked as some described the perpetrator, Jonathon Candy, 42, as 'goofy' while investigators still search for answers. The victims has been named as Jonathon's wife, Lindsay, 39, and sons, Dylan, 18, Ethan, 14 and Lucas, 10. On Monday morning, '(the boy) woke up and discovered what had happened,' said Sgt. Gary Knight, describing the scene as 'carnage.'

Lady Gabriella Windsor's friends are said to be rallying around her after the death of her husband in February. Kingston died from a 'traumatic head wound', an inquest heard in March. A gun was found near his body in an outbuilding at his parents' home in the Cotswolds.

Seven Household Cavalry horses, including one soaked with blood, ran loose in central London after throwing their military riders during their morning exercise. Five people, including a soldier who was riding on of the horses, were injured in three separate incidents on Wednesday. Four were hospitalised. The Household Cavalry soldier was left 'screaming in pain' after he was thrown from his horse when it struck a car by the Clermont Hotel on Buckingham Palace Road, Victoria. Commuters said they heard the soldier screaming in pain after they saw him fall from his horse when the animal ran into a car. The horses were spooked during their daily morning exercise on Horse Guards Parade, in Whitehall, at around 8.40am. One of the horses has also seemingly ran into a double-decker bus, smashing its windscreen, while another reportedly crashed into a black cab. Emergency services rushed to the help the injured soldier, who was seen being treated on the road.

Kyle Richards rushed to her daughter Farrah Aldjufrie's side after her Los Angeles home was burglarized in broad daylight on Tuesday. The RHOBH star, 55, and her eldest daughter, 35, were photographed speaking to LAPD investigators in the driveway and a police report was filed. According to TMZ, the robbery took place at around 1PM when thieves gained access to the home by forcing open a door. At some point, the WiFi at the home was cut off.

Lukka Ventures, 27, has been exploring abandoned buildings in the UK for four years, and decided to explore the 'red zones' after watching a documentary on the Fukushima disaster. This is the bizarre moment a group of bungling prisoners tunneled their way out of jail only to be met by a team of police officers who were training outside. Twenty daring suspected criminals were seen realising their error in real time as they emerged from a hole in the wall onto the police headquarters training course in Maracaibo, Venezuela. The officers were seen pushing the men back into the hole to assist them back through the tight space before leading them back inside the prison.

Little Arian Arnold (left) went missing while playing in his garden in the small town of Elm, near Bremervoerde, in the northern state of Lower Saxony, on Monday evening. His terrified parents alerted local police just minutes after noticing his disappearance. Authorities have since launched a major search for the boy, deploying an army Tornado jet (top right), sniffer dogs, drones, a sonar boat and several divers for the search. The autistic six-year-old, who is nonverbal, had only recently starting playing in the garden - where a trampoline and football goal post had been erected for him - by himself and would usually come back into the house on his own accord. But when he disappeared, his parents 'quickly recognised the seriousness of the situation' and called the fire department and police, which said the search for the boy was 'particularly difficult' due to him neither speaking nor responding to people.
