Happening #18
April 29 - May 1, 2016
Happening is...
- a retreat weekend for high school students, presented by high school students, clergy and lay adults. We do everything from praying to playing, and from singing to sleeping. There are talks, small groups, free time and fun. We come together to praise God in an amazing environment, and hope you will join us!
- open to all youth in grades 9-12. Adult sponsors from parishes are also encouraged to attend. Adults must have attended Safeguarding training.
- more than a Youth Event. It's an experience. You'll find yourself telling your friends, family and complete strangers of the things that you encountered at Happening!

Summer Camp
Once again this year we have teamed up with Living Water Ministries to offer summer camp for the young people of the Diocese. While you can choose any week, we have designated Week 5 (July 17-22) as an Episco-Week at Camp Stony Lake. During that week, Eric Travis the Missioner for Youth and Young Adults from the Diocese of Michigan will be on staff to offer spiritual formation for the Episcopal students.

Resources for Youth Workers
|
|
"In order to believe in a good and creative God who loves kids and teenagers in spite of their mistakes and their mess, they need adults who will do the same. They need adults who can demonstrate to them over time that they matter and have a value far greater than what can be measured by performance."

Curriculum Charts
One of the best resources I have found is from my friend Sharon Pearson. At her website,
Rows of Sharon, she shares amazing resources for formation. At this time of year, she always shares
charts that compare a variety of curricular resources from across denominational lines.
