Although more than 2 million Sri Lankan citizens are away from the country, including over a 2/3 majority of the Sri Lankan female workforce that is working in Middle East, are not facilitated to vote. However, almost all those Sri Lankans are on the electoral register which is annually updated during the enumeration conducted by the Election Commission.
