The word ‘farm’ brings to mind pastoral, rolling green acres, with free-roaming livestock and men in overalls chewing on hay. That image is far from the reality of most farms today- in more ways than one. Not only does most of our food come from factory farms, but there are more women than ever involved in farming. We explore the ways our agricultural system has become unsustainable and unethical, and why a growing number of female farmers may be part of the solution.
