Cardinals Take Down Highlanders

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Caroline Robertson came off the bench to score 20 points for the St. John Fisher Cardinals as they defeated the Houghton Highlanders, 77-44 on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Cardinals opened up an eight point lead in the first quarter, but Elle Reed hit a free throw and a layup on consecutive possessions to close the period, bringing Houghton within five.
 
In the second quarter the Cardinals opened up the floor, outscoring the Highlanders 21-8 to enter the locker room up by 18 at the half.
 
From there Fisher only continued to create separation, building a 32 point lead by the end of the third quarter. 
 
While the Highlanders fought nobly to the end of the game, by that time the game was beyond reach.

      >In addition to Robertson's scoring, 10 other players made their way into the scorebook, including five that scored at least eight points.
       
Stat Analysis:
      >The story of the game was shooting.  Fisher finished 28 of 64 (44 percent) from the floor.  Houghton shot 13 of 60 (22 percent).
      >Fisher also held advantages in rebounds (47-41) and turnovers (13-17).
