COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College Lady Tigers won their eighth straight game with a 56-39 victory over Paine College on Saturday afternoon in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
The Lady Tigers held Paine to 24.6 percent shooting and forced 25 turnovers to improve to 15-4 overall and 10-1 in the SIAC. Paine's 39 points were a season-low.
KaDeeja Vaughn led the Lady Tigers with 12 points, while
Britenique Harrison had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Ta'Narnia Chisley added 10 points.
Benedict scored the first eight points of the game and never looked back. The Lady Tigers led 33-13 at the half as Paine shot just 20 percent. Benedict led by as much as 29 points in the second half.
Paine fell to 6-13 overall and 4-7 in the SIAC. Aalyiha Wright led the Lady Lions with nine points.
Benedict is back in action on Monday, traveling to Orangeburg to take on rival Claflin at 5:30 p.m.
