Gardening Orientation
Saturday July 30th starting 11 am

Come on out and enjoy the RING garden on Saturday morning.  From 10-12 the pond care team will be there and you can learn how we keep the pond's ecosystem going and healthy for our fish.

At 11, Maggie will be on hand to demonstrate our watering systems, the composting system, and give you your special weed to find and uproot around the garden. The lawn needs mowing too!

Though the heat wave has broken for now, we could hit a dry or hot spell at any time. Please be on the lookout for wilting leaves and come in to water. We have 3 indestructible nozzles in place now.  You just turn on the water and bend it to operate.
We've hit the height of summertime at RING.  The black eyed susans are out, and the butterfly bushes (buddleia) that we bought a couple of years ago plus our newest one, are blooming on the north side.  Hopefully the butterflies will find them soon.  We have had a few Red Admirals at RING.
Community Bulletin Board
A very large building (maybe as high as 18 floors) with mostly luxury apartments is slated for development at the corner of Sherman and Broadway, former site of the historic Packard car showroom back in the day and across the street from landmarked Ft. Tryon Park. The Inwood Preservation group on Facebook is looking for new members and is also working to have contextual zoning for Inwood.

This is Inwood Preservation's
Petition to the City Council which votes August 9 to ask that there be no spot upzoning of this site.
