My three friends and I decided that we had been enduring too many stresses in our collective lives lately so we decided that we needed a Spa Day! I began the process of researching the best locations for our day. Our requirements at the outset seemed simple. We wanted to be pampered with massage, facials, manicures, pedicures, and a wash and blow dry before dinner. I soon discovered that there are not too many places that can accommodate all four of us at the same time. A good friend recommended The Grand Beauty Spa. I called. They were eager to earn my business and invited me in for a tour. When I arrived, I was offered a hot towel to cleanse my hands, coffee, tea, wine, water, and even champagne. Since I had to return to work shortly, I opted for water and we proceeded with our tour of the facilities.I was shown the Hair Salon with 9 stations, 4 wash bowls and a comfortable color area. We then went into the well-appointed locker room that includes a large steam room and an infa-red sauna that I was told can burn up to 600 calories in a 30 minute session. We then walked through the Ladies and Gentleman’s courtyards where we decided we would have our lunches. Next was up the elevator to The Spa area. It is a quiet area with 7 different treatment rooms for everything from massages and facials to couples massages, milk and detox baths, body scrubs, body wraps and even eyelash extensions. There is even another Sun Deck courtyard off the spa.Since the other girls had authorized me to make all the arrangements, I went ahead and booked our Day of Beauty. We will begin with the sauna and steam then head upstairs for our treatments. Two of us will begin with facials and two with massage then we will switch. Lunch in the courtyard will follow. We then will take over the pedicure area where all four of us can solve the problems of the world together. We will finish with our wash and blow dry, then off to dinner.
