Volleyball Wins Third Straight

Lady Flames Top Christian Brothers, 3-1

 

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Lee volleyball team claimed its third straight victory with a 3-1 road victory over Christian Brothers on Tuesday evening.

The Lady Flames struggled in the first set, losing 25-12 to the Lady Bucs after recording just five kills and committing seven errors in the opening set. 

Lee would come firing back with a 25-21 set two victory and a 25-20 set three win to take a 2-1 advantage. Coach Andrea Hudson's club would finish out the contest with a hard-fought 26-24 advantage in set four. 

The Lady Flames were led by 15 kills and 11 digs from Silva Sartori . Earlier in the day the outside hitter from Belgrade, Serbia was named the Gulf South Conference Volleyball Freshman of the Week. 

Catherine Conley added 12 slams and Brooke Wilsman chipped in six. Hillary Hoffpauir set the offense in motion with 36 assists and completed a double-double effort with 12 digs. 

Alexis Gillis led the Lady Bucs with 14 kills while Brinsley Cooper added 12 and Kathryn Miller tallied 11.  Jessica Reber registerd 43 assists and Blythe Clausen pitched in 18 digs.

The Lady Flames improve to 11-13 on the year and are now 6-8 in the GSC. Christian Brothers falls to 8-16 overall and 4-10 in league play.

Lee will continue the road adventures this weekend as they travel to Valdosta State University on Friday at 6 p.m. before visiting No. 23 West Florida on Saturday at 5 p.m.
