    DC Brau Brewing Company in Washington, DC, is seeking two accountable and highly motivated Cellar Technicians to join our Production Team in the Washington, DC Metro Area (DC, VA, & MD).

    Since the launch of our brand in the spring of 2011, DC Brau Brewing Company has doubled production capacity each year, and we don’t have plans to stop. Our latest expansion has allowed us to ramp up our current production capacity and we will, in turn, require additional support for our Productions Team.

    The Cellar Technicians at DC Brau Brewing will be responsible for supporting the daily and ongoing cellar activities. These professionals are expected to work closely with DC Brau’s Production and Management Teams, and reports directly to the Production Manager and Lead Cellar Technician. This position will work in daily coordination with the brewhouse, cellar, packaging, and administrative staff.

    Our ideal Cellar Technicians have a passion for craft beer and have technical experience in a brewery cellar environment. This professional must also possess a strong work ethic and must enjoy working as part of a unified team. This is an entry-level position and is an opportunity for someone to develop his or her skills within the craft brewing industry.

    Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Supporting the implementation of packaging operations activities including canning, bottling, and kegging according to standard operating procedure (SOP).
    • Cleaning kegs according to SOP.
    • Ensuring product losses are minimized and working with Lead Packaging to troubleshoot canning line and other packaging issues.
    • Checking and monitoring of active and non-active fermentations
    • CIP cleaning techniques (including proper heating and cooling techniques for fermenters caustic, acid, and sanitary CIP cycles)
    • Transferring of beer and wort
    • Harvesting yeast
    • Dry hopping fermenters
    • Safely drive and operate a forklift and scissor lift
    • Coordinating with cellar, brewhouse, and administrative staff to ensure timely availability of product.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Ability to meet physical challenges of working in the cellar
    • Knowledge of chemicals used in cellar operations/cleaning cycles and how to handle and use them safely
    • Ability to accurately keep records in all necessary brewery logs
    • Ability to work unsupervised while maintaining safety and quality standards.
    • Self motivated with good time management skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple processes at one time.
    • Ability to coordinate with other departments according to schedule.
    • Ability to work in a diverse team environment.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with team members throughout the brewery.
    • Must have a positive attitude
    • High School Diploma

    DC Brau is offering full-time (40+ hours/week) employment. After a 90-day probationary period full-time employees are offered benefits including health and dental insurance and paid time off. Total compensation depends on experience.
